The wine industry in this country is growing (forgive the pun!) by the day!
Our climate is now perfect for growing cool climate grape varieties that produce the highest quality white wine grapes and there are also innovators who are trialling red wine grape varieties too.
There has been close to a 75% increase in the amount of space given over to grape vines in the last five years with UK farmers diversifying from traditional livestock and crop production. This means that there will be more wine in production over the next 3-5 years, adding to the 12.2 million bottles currently produced.
The south east corner of England currently accounts for 63% of all the vineyard space in the country and is now creating a tourism attraction all of its own.
