Our dinner will be three courses each with an accompanying glass of wine from some of the lesser known vineyards of the Loire. Ian visited the Saumur region earlier this year and returned with the selection chosen for the dinner.
The next few weeks will determine how well the bunches of grapes ripen on the vines or become the food for wasps and birds and other thieves of the harvest. Many vineyards will be keeping a very keen eye on how the grapes are developing.
Our next Pop & Pour event will be on Friday 20 September. We’ll be exploring Portugal this month. This small country has a major wine industry and following a very turbulent history both politically and from a wine production point of view has now come of age.
